Who We Are
Welcome to Toby’s Legacy Pups! We are a family-run Ohio puppy breeder located in the rolling hills of northeastern Ohio. Our family includes my husband Abe, our son Jamin, and me, Laura. Together, we raise puppies on our 1.5-acre hobby farm, where family, animals, and country living are part of our everyday life.
When we’re not caring for puppies, you might find us biking along the Ohio Erie Rails to Trails, spending time with Boone the horse and Blaze the pony, tending to our chickens, or enjoying time with our dogs. Life on our farm revolves around family and animals, and we believe that environment plays an important role in raising happy, well-adjusted puppies.
As a breeder of family raised puppies in Ohio, we are committed to providing every puppy with plenty of love, attention, and socialization from the very beginning.
Our Mission
At Toby’s Legacy Pups, our goal is to help families find healthy, well-socialized companions that will bring joy for years to come. We work hard to provide a positive adoption experience and to give every puppy the best possible start in life.
Before joining their new families, our puppies receive:
- Age-appropriate vaccinations
- Regular deworming
- A veterinary health examination
- Daily handling and socialization
- Lots of love and attention from our family
As a reputable puppy breeder in Ohio, we believe that raising great puppies starts long before they leave for their forever homes.
Toby's Legacy Pups: Where It All Began!
The story behind Toby’s Legacy Pups began in 2014 during one of the most difficult seasons of our lives. After losing our daughter to a full-term stillbirth, our hearts were broken, and we were searching for comfort and healing.
That comfort arrived in the form of a curly white Standard Poodle named Toby. His playful personality and unconditional love brought joy back into our home during a time when we needed it most.
Not long afterward, we welcomed Tasha, our American Golden Retriever. Her gentle temperament and friendly personality perfectly complemented Toby. In 2015, we welcomed our first litter of puppies, and the experience changed our lives.
Watching families fall in love with their new puppies and hearing the stories of the happiness they brought into their homes sparked a passion that continues today.
In 2019, we welcomed our son Jamin into our family. Becoming a stay-at-home mom allowed me to devote even more time to our puppy program. There is something special about watching a little boy grow up alongside puppies, and it remains one of our greatest joys.
Continuing Toby's Legacy
Although Toby and Tasha have long since retired, their legacy lives on through every puppy we raise.
At Toby’s Legacy Pups, all of our breeding dogs undergo health screening and genetic testing through Animal Genetics. Our focus on genetic tested puppies helps us make informed breeding decisions and produce healthy companions for families across the country.
Every puppy is vet-checked, well-socialized, and raised as part of our family before joining yours. We are proud to continue the mission that Toby inspired years ago: raising puppies that bring comfort, companionship, and lifelong friendship to the people who welcome them home.
